Dr. Abhijit Bandyopadhyay Profile

Dr. Abhijit Bandyopadhyay is a man with unending potential and exudes positive energy to all those surrounding him. Besides his busy schedule, he devotes some of his time to social service and renders his services in Student Health Home, People’s Relief Committee, and other charitable organizations.

Beginning from his student days, he was elected General Secretary of his Medical College’s Student Union and therefore was privileged enough to serve his fellow students and leading them through various educational and extracurricular events.

He was selected as an International Member of AOFAS (AMERICAN ORTHOPAEDIC FOOT AND ANKLE SURGEON) and went to the University of Texas Medical Branch, Texas, USA for Foot & Ankle Surgery Clinical Observer fellowship under Prof. V.K. Panchbhabi in the year 2015. He has been selected as AO Trauma Asia Pacific Fellow in the year 2015 and was trained from Queen Mary Hospital, Hongkong University under Prof. Frankey Leung.

He has done his IFAS-UAB foot ankle fellowship in the year 2016 from ALABAMA University, Birmingham, USA under Dr. Ashis B Saha. He has done his AO-Foot Ankle reconstruction fellowship from Carl Gustav Carus University, Dresden, Germany under Prof. Stephen Remmelt in the year 2017. There he underwent training in minimal invasive Foot-Ankle surgery, various mode of arthrodesis, arthroscopic repair, and osteotomy.

He has actively participated in the “WBOA SUB SPECIALTY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT COURSE” from 17th July to 28th July 2017 held at Medica Super Specialty Hospital, Kolkata under Dr. V.Kapoor. He has actively participated in the “WBOA SUB SPECIALTY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT COURSE” from 4th December to 15th December 2017 held at Fortis Hospital under Dr. R. Rajput.

He has successfully completed the Fellowship in Hip and Knee Replacement and Reconstruction Surgery at Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital Dresden from June 01, 2018, to July 31st, 2018 under Prof. K.P.Gunther.

He has successfully completed his Fellowship Diploma in Foot-Ankle Reconstruction Surgery at Swiss Ortho Center , University of Basel, Switzerland under Prof. Victor Valderrabano in the year 2019.

Curently, Dr. Abhijit is an Executive Committee Member of West Bengal Orthopaedic Association and Indian Foot Ankle Soceity and also selected as Convenor of Foot-Ankle Workshop of IOACON 2019 and Organizing Secretary of IFASCON 2021 which will be held in Kolkata, India.

Currently he is a visiting consultant of WoodLand Multispeciality Hospital, Kolkata, India and Sree Jain Hospital & Research Center, Howrah.
